
EZRA BAILEY is a postdoctoral research associate in the FLIES Facility at the Texas A&M University Department of Entomology. She graduated with her B.A. in Biology and a Minor in Entomology from the North Carolina State University Department of Biological Sciences in 2021. She then completed her Ph.D. with Dr. Brian Wiegmann in the North Carolina State University Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology in 2025. Her Ph.D. research focused on the systematics, genomics, and evolution of parasitism in Calyptratae, especially Calliphoridae (blow flies), Oestridae (bot flies), and Anthomyiidae (root maggot flies). Ezra’s current postdoctoral work is focused on the ecology of Cochliomyia hominivorax (New World screwworm) and other Calliphoridae, in addition to the parasitoids that attack Calliphoridae.
