Courtney Weldon

weldonCOURTNEY WELDON is an undergraduate Forensic & Investigative Sciences student in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University. Courtney is conducting research in the FLIES Facility through the NSF-REU program managed by the Department of Entomology. For her research, Courtney will be isolating and describing the bacteria fauna associated with the salivary glands of the blow fly Lucilia sericata (Diptera: Calliphoridae). She will also examine the role of quorum sensing by bacteria as a mechanism regulating adult blow fly behavior. Courtney is also an avid New York Yankees fan (please note picture)!
