AMBER MACINNIS is a postdoctoral research associate in the FLIES Facility at Texas A&M University Department of Entomology. She received her B.S. in Biology with certificates in
forensic science and criminalistics from the University of North Texas in 2016. She received her M.S. in Applied Ecology in 2018 from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln where she studied larval competition between forensically important blow flies. She received her Ph.D. in Biology in 2023 from Florida International University where she created genetically modified fluorescent blow flies as a tool for forensic entomology. Her research interests lie in the field of decomposition ecology. Her current postdoctoral position focuses on research using black soldier flies for dairy manure waste reduction.
