DR GABRIEL GANA BAKE is a Fulbright research fellow from Nigeria working with Professor Delbert M. Gatlin III at Department of Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences in collaboration with Dr. Jeffery Tomberlin Department of Entomology Texas A&M University College station Texas USA. He had an academic appointment with Federal University of Technology Minna since 2004. He receives his B.Tech. Agric (fisheries) from Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria in 2002, M. Tech Fisheries Technology from the same University 2007 and his Ph.D. from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology Japan in 2010. Gabriel’s background is in aquaculture production and aquaculture nutrition with a special focus on alternative ingredients for aquafeed production. During his Ph.D. he worked on recycled food waste as an alternative ingredient in aquafeed production in different aquacultural systems. His research interest is basically using insects as an alternative ingredient in aquafeed production. At the FLIES Facility, he will be collaborating with Dr. Tomberlin to mass produce the black soldier fly larvae and running some feeding trials at Professor Gatlin’s research facility using the black soldier fly larvae meal as a potent ingredient for aquafeed production.
