Juliana Oliviera

JULIANA OLIVEIRA is a Biological Sciences student at the University of São Paulo- USP “Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz – ESALQ”. She recently determined she was awarded an Entrepreneurship Grant for the project entitled, “Evaluation of relationship between copulation time and fertility of the eggs of Hermetia illucens (Diptera Stratiomyidae) in artificial breeding..”, which is developed in part with Dr. Jeffery Tomberlin of the FLIES Facility in the Department of Entomology (Texas A & M University ) and is financed by AUSPIN (USP Innovation Agency). The six-month project aims to improve the enhancement of H. illucens for the production of insect-based protein in the Brazilian market. Her research will explore the relationship between mating time and fertile egg production.
