Rachel Mohr

RACHEL MOHR received her B.S. from Texas A&M in 2004. She then headed out to Riverside, CA, where she did research on the behavior of the canyon fly, Fannia conspicua, for her Master’s. She is interested in how adult blow flies are attracted to a body that is very freshly deceased. While it’s relatively straightforward to tell how long maggots have been on a cadaver, it’s much harder to say how long after actual death that the flies began to lay eggs. Rachel completed her PhD in May 2012 and pursuing a career in forensics.mohr_clip_image002
