Tayna Olimpia

tanyaTAYNA OLIMPIA is majoring in biology at the University of Pernambuco, Brazil with an emphasis on insect behavior and ecology. Tayna currently is studying abroad at Arizona State University. Her research while visiting the FLIES Facility will examine the behavioral interactions between the blow flies Chrysomya rufifacies and Cochliomyia macellaria. She will evaluate how different period of heterospecific and conspecific larvae feeding on a resource ge affect the colonization by the two blow flies species. Also, while working on this behavioral study, Tayna will receive training on forensic entomology through analysis of forensic cases.
